What is SoloSwift?
SoloSwift is an invoicing and business management app built specifically for solo tradespeople — plumbers, electricians, cleaners, landscapers, painters, handymen, detailers, pressure washers, and more. It lets you send professional invoices via SMS in under 10 seconds, accept card payments through Stripe, manage clients, create quotes, and track jobs — all from your phone.
How much does SoloSwift cost?
SoloSwift is completely free to sign up and start using. There are no monthly fees, no annual subscriptions, and no hidden charges. You only pay a small payment processing fee (standard Stripe rates) when a client pays an invoice. If you don't get paid, you don't pay anything.
Do I need to download an app?
No. SoloSwift works as a web app in your phone's browser — no download required from the App Store or Google Play. You can also add it to your home screen for a native app-like experience (it's a Progressive Web App). Your clients don't need to download anything either.
How do I get started?
Sign up for free at soloswift.app. You'll enter your business name and you're ready to go. Your first invoice can be sent in under 2 minutes from signing up. No credit card required.
What trades does SoloSwift work for?
SoloSwift works for any solo tradesperson or independent contractor: plumbers, electricians, HVAC technicians, cleaners, landscapers, painters, handymen, pressure washers, auto detailers, carpet cleaners, roofers, fencing contractors, pool technicians, pest control operators, movers, and more. If you do work and need to invoice for it, SoloSwift is for you.
Invoicing
How do I send an invoice?
Enter your client's name and phone number (or select an existing client), add your line items and total, and tap send. Your client receives a professional SMS with a secure payment link. The whole process takes about 10 seconds.
What does my client see when I send an invoice?
Your client gets a text message with your business name and a link to view the invoice. When they tap the link, they see a professional, branded invoice page with all the details. They can pay instantly with any credit or debit card — no account creation or app download required.
Can I send invoices via email instead of SMS?
SoloSwift focuses on SMS delivery because text messages have a 98% open rate compared to 20% for email. This means your clients see invoices instantly and you get paid faster. SMS delivery is the core advantage of SoloSwift.
Can I create recurring invoices?
Currently SoloSwift focuses on one-time invoices, which is how most tradespeople bill. Each invoice is fast to create and send, so even regular clients can be invoiced quickly after each job.
Can I add my logo and branding?
Your business name appears on all invoices and SMS messages. The invoice page your clients see is clean and professional with your business details prominently displayed.
Payments
How do clients pay?
Clients tap the payment link in their text message, view the invoice, and pay with any credit or debit card. The payment is processed securely by Stripe. No account creation, no app download, no friction — just tap and pay.
How fast do I get my money?
Payments are processed through Stripe and typically land in your bank account within 1-2 business days. This is significantly faster than waiting for checks or chasing cash payments.
What are the payment processing fees?
SoloSwift uses standard Stripe processing rates (typically 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction in the US). There are no additional SoloSwift fees on top of this. You only pay when you get paid.
Is it secure?
Absolutely. All payments are processed by Stripe, which handles hundreds of billions of dollars in payments annually for millions of businesses worldwide. Your data is encrypted with bank-level security and is PCI DSS Level 1 compliant — the highest level of payment security certification.
What if a client doesn't pay?
Your SoloSwift dashboard shows the status of every invoice — paid, pending, viewed, or overdue. You can see at a glance who owes you money and how long the invoice has been outstanding, making it easy to follow up.
Quotes & Jobs
Can I send quotes before invoicing?
Yes. SoloSwift has a full quote-to-invoice workflow. Create a quote on-site during a walkthrough, send it to the client via SMS for approval, and when the job is done, convert the approved quote directly into an invoice with one tap. No re-entering data.
How does job tracking work?
SoloSwift lets you create and manage jobs with scheduling, status tracking, and client assignment. You can track jobs through their lifecycle: scheduled, in progress, and completed. Your clients can even track job status through a secure link.
Can my clients see their quotes and invoices?
Yes. Each client gets access to a client portal via a secure link. They can view all their quotes, invoices, and upcoming jobs in one place — no login required. It makes your business look professional and keeps clients informed.

Can I use SoloSwift on my computer?
Yes. SoloSwift works on any device with a web browser — phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop. It's designed mobile-first because that's where most tradespeople use it, but the full experience is available on larger screens too.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. All data is scoped to your account — no one else can see your clients, invoices, or business information. We use industry-standard security practices and never share your data.
